Percentage Based Limit Entry??

Post by fredesch »

Is it possible to specify a limit entry that is a defined percentage away from the closing price of the event bar in the Trade Simulation module?

For example, some of Larry Connor's strategies call for a Long limit entry on the day following an "event bar" as much as 10% below the event bar's closing price. The Trade Simulation module allows one to define a limit entry using price but not percentage as best I understand it. Hopefully, my understanding is incomplete or there is another approach for specifying a percentage based limit entry.

Any guidance provided will be very appreciated.

Thank you.

That feature is not currently in EdgeRater PRO but I will add it to the feature request list.

One workaround that get's you part way there is to write the script so that it triggers a signal if the price is x% below the previous day's price. However it doesn't quite fulfill the need because you cannot specify in the trade simulation to make the purchase at that price. you can only specify to trade at Open or Close.
