It looks like as of today the Yahoo historical data is back to normal, meaning that they are no longer attaching the current intraday price to the historical price table. That is a good thing because it caused a lot of confusion among all Yahoo historical data users (not just ETF Trading Bandit users).

So now the process for updating ETF Trading Bandit is also back to normal.

1. In the evening (after 7pm PST) or just prior to market open press 'Update List Data'
2. During the trading day press 'Intraday Update'.

The date of the list will always indicate the last EOD update (ie, yesterday). If you hover over the Intra column you will see the date and time of the intraday update.

Hey Chris,

Pls confirm that the following is how the Intraday Update works:
+ I have 4 symbol lists
+ first I do an intraday update on "list 1", the "Intra" column displays the time of the update, say "3:45 PM".
+ then I move to "list 2" and do an intraday update, now the "Intra" column displays "3:50 PM".
+ now back to "list 1" and the Intra" colum is back to showing "12:00 AM".

When I shut down and restart the program, all 4 of my symbol lists are back to showing "12:00 AM" in the "Intra" column.

Please explain the proper usage of the Intraday Update when using multiple symbol lists.

Thanks... Bruce G.

The thing to remember is that the 'Update List Data' function only updates EOD data to the latest available, but once it is complete you can move between lists and the data is not lost. The Intraday update data is thrown away as soon as you move to another list and so you have to hit 'Intraday Update' again.

The Intraday update function is super quick because it is only fetching current OHLCV values for today for each symbol in the list, whereas the 'Update list data' function (EOD update) fetches 2 years of daily history for each symbol in your list and can take a few mins for large lists.

I personally liked it better the other way since I like dealing with real data instead of 20 minute delayed data.

Today I used the 2 period RSI calculator on the trading markets site to figure out what I needed to sell tonight.

btw-does anybody buy mutual funds end of day instead of etf's?

I have been using Profunds and Direxion Mutual funds for the past few months and I like not having to pay a broker commission. The problem with Schwab is that they cut off some Profunds at 3:30 so you have to use your head somewhat and place your trade a bit early and hope it doesnt go against you
