Adding a Data Provider Configuration

Generally, the standard list of data providers will be sufficient for your needs but there are times when you might want to add an additional ‘MetaStock’ or ‘ASCII’ data provider to look for data in a different folder on your hard drive. This can speed up data access because you can be more specific about what data is contained where.

For instance you might have the S&P 1500 stock data in one folder and the Russell 2000 stock data in another. If these folders were both subfolders of the ‘C:\RootFolder’ location then the data provider with that ‘files location’ set would be able to access both of these sets of data. However if you add a separate data provider configuration for each of these locations then the access will be faster. Note that the speed difference will be negligible for small sets of data.
