The Yahoo! data provider
To use the free Yahoo! data, all you need is a connection to the internet.
EdgeRater will enable the Yahoo! data provider on every installation even if a connection to the internet is not currently available. You need to ensure that you have a working connection before you start using the Yahoo! provider. The features of the Yahoo! data provider are:
Ø Data is of high quality and is adjusted for splits and dividends.
Ø End-of-day data is available for stocks from exchanges from over 30 countries
Ø On a fast internet connection you can download 10 years’ worth of a single stock’s End-of-day data in about a second.
Ø Data is free
(Note: EdgeRater’s ability to download Yahoo! end-of-day data for free will exist as long as Yahoo! allows. If at some point in the future Yahoo! removes this ability or starts charging for data we will not be able to provide this feature. If this situation occurs every attempt will be made to provide the same quality of data from an alternate source but it is not guaranteed).
